Altis supports Industry-first as The YARDS achieves first 6 Star Green Star Communities rating

Altis Property Partners, a Barings Company, together with join venture partners Aware Real Estate and Frasers Property Industrial, are celebrating an industry first, achieving a 6 Star Green Star Communities rating from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) at The YARDS Kemps Creek.

As the Investment and Development Managers, Altis helped drive the application process, ensuring The YARDS’ commitment to community and sustainability initiatives. Achieving the highest possible 6 Star Green Star Communities v1.1 rating lifts the bar for sustainable and innovative industrial developments, having previously only been awarded to residential, mixed-use commercial and retail precincts.

Located in Kemps Creek, New South Wales, The YARDS, a $1 billion Premium Estate under construction that will accommodate more than 14 next generation and sustainable facilities if approximately 400,000sqm across 77 hectares.

Leading occupiers including Probiotec, an industry leader in the contract manufacturing and packing space for pharmaceuticals, Ardex, global manufacturer of ARDEX, Dunlop, DTA and ABA, and Techtronic Industries, a multinational manufacturer of power tools, hand tools and floor care appliances.

The GBCA’s Green Star- Communities rating tool assesses the planning, design and construction of large-scale development projects at a precinct, neighbourhood and/or community scale. It provides a rigorous and holistic rating across five impact categories: Governance, Liveability, Economic Prosperity, Environment and Innovation.
