Work starts at The Yards – Australia’s first industrial community.
Altis Property Partners is extremely proud to be commencing work Australia’s first industrial community, The Yards, on behalf of investor Aware Super with our joint venture partner Frasers Property Industrial. Planning and design of this 70-hectare estate, accommodating c. 400,000 sqm of next generation sustainable warehouse and logistics facilities. Targeting a 6-Star Green star rating the development has been two years in the making – Altis and Fraser’s working with the NSW Department of Planning, Penrith Council, other local landowners, the wider community, local Member Tania Davies, and a high performing consultancy team. Leasing and design for prospective tenants is underway now.
The Yards is strategically located on the corner of Mamre Road and the future Southern Link Road in the Western Sydney Aerotropolis and is expected to generate over 3,500 jobs. Practical completion of Stage 1 scheduled for early 2022.
The Yards is the 3rd major industrial and logistics park created by Altis for Aware Super. Enquiries for First Estate Erskine Park, Altitude Industrial at Bankstown Airport, and the Yards are welcomed by the Altis development team.
The honourable Stuart Ayres, Minister for Jobs, Tourism and Western Sydney and Member for Mulgoa Tanya Davies, joined Frasers Property Industrial CEO Reini Otter, Aware Super Chief Investment Officer Damian Graham officiated and joined the Altis Property Team celebrating this major milestone with a sod turning and well reported announcements last Thursday.
